Kettle Foods-----Gluten-free Response

More Responses from my First 5-Day Emailing Campaign to contact companies to get coupons and raise awareness on Gluten-free eating....

"Kettle Brand® Potato Chips (including our Kettle Brand® Baked, Organic, and Krinkle Cut™ Potato Chips) are gluten free and processed in a gluten free environment."

"Our other products (Kettle Brand® Tortilla Chips, and Kettle Brand® Roaster Fresh® Nut Butters) are made in a facility separate from our potato chips, and are processed on equipment shared with ingredients that contain very small amounts of wheat. The gluten is in our Kettle Brand® Multi Grain Tortilla Chip flavor and a few of our Kettle Brand® Roaster Fresh® Trail Mixes."

"We thoroughly clean our lines after each flavor run, but there is a slight potential of cross contamination with tortilla chips and nut products. For your convenience we do list all ingredients on the packaging."

Emailing Companies for Coupons and Raising Gluten-free Awarness

I joined the 5 A Day at Couponing to Disney

Couponing to Disney has a 5 a day to email companies and get coupons for products. I joined her campaign and today began emailing her 5 a day list. She posts 5 companies each day Monday through Friday on her blog making it easy. While Emailing Progresso I thanked the company for their commitment to offering some of their soups Gluten-free.

I realized that this was not just an opportunity to get coupons, but to raise awareness on
eating Gluten-free. I emailed Jennie-O and received an email with a PDF of all Hormel Foods Gluten-free Products!

Hormel Foods Gluten-free List for Hormel Products, Jennie-O , Chi Chi, Lloyds,, Spam Products, Dinty Moore, Valley Fresh Chunk Meats, La Victoria. Going through the list I happily discovered several shelf stable products that now have gone Gluten-free including Dinty Moore Beef and Chicken Stew.

As I find lists of Gluten-free Resources I will keep them updated on my blog .

Whole Foods--A Gluten-free Snack Adventure

Becca and Kasja who loves driving.

Whole Foods huge selection of Wow Baking Company.

We bought the Snickerdoodles, Oregon Oatmeal, and Brownies, they are amazing.

We indulged on not so frugal amazing Cupcakes.

Kristy and Kasja

Life is too short and so is vacation to not indulge. At $8.99 for four cupcakes, good thing I save money on everything else but our Gluten-free Goodies. For us, this is a treat! Whole Foods is not close to our home, the nearest store is almost 90 miles away in Madison. The Austin Whole Foods is an adventure and our new favorite place to stop for to pick up a few Gluten-Free groceries and a snack when we visit.

The Wow Baking Company has on line sales and will soon be selling the prebaked cookie packages. They also have cookie dough tubs. All their products are Certified Gluten-Free. My mission when I get back... Get our Platteville Driftless Market to become a retail outlet or I will order on-line.

Gluten-Free Travel Resource

I was going through my google news and discovered an online resource for those who need to eat gluten-free. I was diagnosed with Celiacs Disease 28 years ago and so are many in my family. There are so many resources and many restaurants offer gluten-free menus. But how do you find them? Especially when you are traveling. I found a new resource...

GlutenFreeTravelSite is a resource for people with Celiac Disease -- an autoimmune disorder that compromises the body's ability to digest gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. It provides peer-written reviews of restaurants, hotels/resorts, cruise ships and grocery stores around the world that cater to the gluten-free community.

"With the growing need for special diets, GlutenFreeTravelSite offers a personal touch by giving people with dietary needs a way to connect with others facing the same challenges. By using the site the reader can make our trips away from home safe and enjoyable and truly Gluten-free.

One of the biggest challenges for those with Celiac's Disease is to not get Gluten and ruin our vacations or our trips out of town.

GlutenFreeTravelSite is organized by geographic region to make submitting and searching reviews user friendly. "Since searches can be done by state, region and country.

I have sent this site on to my daughter-in-law Stacey for her blog "More Gluten-Free Options.Blogspot.com where she and my son profile Glutenfree resources, recipes and Minnesota Gluten-Free Dining Options.

I will begin to research Orange County, California options to be ready for our September trip for Marissa's wedding.
